Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Duration: 5 years and 6 months (including 1-year internship)
Eligibility: 10+2 with Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) and a minimum of 50% marks. NEET qualification is often required for admission.
The BAMS program focuses on the traditional system of medicine known as Ayurveda, combined with modern medical knowledge. Students learn about subjects like anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, herbal medicine, and Ayurvedic therapies. The program includes practical training in diagnosis, treatment, and preventive healthcare through clinical practice and internships. BAMS students are trained to use natural remedies, lifestyle management, and holistic healing approaches to treat patients. The aim of the program is to prepare professionals who can promote wellness, prevent illness, and provide effective healthcare using both Ayurvedic and modern practices.
